2024 Salem Scholarship Application Now Available. APPLY!

The Scholarship and Education Committee of the City of Salem has made the scholarship application form available to students graduating from Salem High School, Salem Academy Charter School, Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School, or other area high schools who plan to attend college or university in the fall.

The one-page application, in either PDF or digital format, is available now at www.salem.com/scholarship. The application can be submitted either in hard copy or electronically through the website. Either way, complete application packets are due by May 10, 2024.

“In Salem, education is a community mission,” said Mayor Dominick Pangallo, who appoints members to the Scholarship and Education Committee. “The Scholarship Fund awards are totally supported by generous gifts from Salem citizens, companies, and other members of the community. Please consider donating to these scholarships and encouraging qualified students to apply by May 10th.

In June 1987, Salem Mayor Tony Salvo and Superintendent of Schools Hank O’Donnell proposed adopting Chapter 194 of the Acts of 1986, a measure that allowed cities and towns to establish a scholarship account for graduating seniors, funded by voluntary contributions made by local residents on their tax bills. The City of Salem’s Scholarship and Education Committee is in charge of both the Scholarship Fund, which provides educational financial aid to deserving city residents, and the Education Fund, which provides supplemental educational funding for local educational needs or funding for existing adult literacy programs.

If you would like to donate to either the Scholarship Fund or the Education Fund, use the donate button at www.salem.com/scholarship.
