5 Decatur Memorial Foundation Scholarship Applications Now Open

Macon County high school graduates can apply for a variety of 2024 scholarships offered by the Decatur Memorial Foundation and the Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Decatur Memorial Foundation Agriculture Scholarships: Every year, two $5,000 scholarships are offered to high school graduates who have decided to pursue a career in agriculture at a two- or four-year institution. Applicants must be high school seniors or undergraduates. The deadline is February 15.

Dr. Thomas W. Samuels Nursing Scholarship: Every year, a student pursuing a nursing degree at Richland Community College receives a $2,500 grant. Applicants must be high school seniors or currently enrolled in Richland’s nursing program. The deadline is February 15.

Dr. Richard H. Fritz Nursing Scholarship: Every year, a $5,000 scholarship is offered to a high school graduate who has decided to pursue a nursing career at a two- or four-year college. Applicants must be high school seniors or undergraduates. The deadline is February 15.

Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Healthcare Support Professionals Scholarships: Every year, three $5,000 scholarships are awarded to high school graduates who want to work in a healthcare support profession at a two- or four-year institution (nurse, X-ray tech, lab tech, pharmacy tech, and so on). The deadline is February 15.

Dr. Joseph Schrodt Science Scholarship: This four-year scholarship of $750 per academic school year is awarded to a Sullivan High School senior pursuing a science-related degree, license, or certification in one of the following fields: medicine, engineering, bioengineering, physics, chemistry, health-related discipline, or physical or occupational therapy. The deadline is March 20.
