9 Tuition Scholarships for Foreign Students

While some universities are tuition-free, others offer tuition subsidies to excellent international students. The most common types of abroad scholarships awarded by colleges are full or partial tuition fee waivers. Tuition fee scholarships are an excellent alternative to fully funded scholarships.

1. UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarships

The UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarship is meant to help and encourage low-income international students to pursue full-time undergraduate degrees at UCL. There are ten awards for full tuition and maintenance, and twenty for full tuition. The scholarship is valid for the duration of the program.

 

2. Leiden University Excellence Scholarships for Non-EU Students.

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Programme (LExS) is offered to outstanding non-EU/EEA students studying for master’s degrees at Leiden University. Scholarships are provided in the following amounts: €10,000 of the tuition charge, €15,000 of the tuition cost, or the entire tuition fee less the home fee.

 

3. Radboud Scholarship Programme for Non-EU Students

The Radboud Scholarship Programme offers scholarships to a select number of high-achieving non-EEA students to pursue a full English-taught Master’s degree program at Radboud University Nijmegen. The scholarship is a partial tuition waiver, not a monetary grant. Tuition fees will be waived at the level of an EEA student. The Radboud Scholarship also covers expenditures for visas, residency permits, health insurance, and liability insurance.

 

4. Lund University offers global scholarships to non-EU/EEA students.

The Lund University Global Scholarship initiative is intended for outstanding academic students from countries outside the European Union/European Economic Area (including Switzerland) who wish to study a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree Program at the University. Scholarships might pay 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of tuition expenses.

 

5. Emily Boutmy Scholarships for International Students.

The Emile Boutmy Scholarship is awarded to outstanding international students from outside the EU who are applying to appropriate Bachelor’s or Master’s programs at the University. Scholarships can take the form of tuition grants ranging from €5,000 to €10,000 for two years of postgraduate education or €3,000 to €19,000 for three years of undergraduate study.

 

6. Macquarie Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship

The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Award provides a half-tuition fee award to outstanding students studying undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at Macquarie University’s North Ryde campus. The scholarship is worth up to AUD$10,000.

7. Bristol University Think Big Scholarships

Bristol University will invest £500,000 to attract the smartest and best international students to any full-time undergraduate (excluding Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Science) or postgraduate study. Scholarships range from 25% to 100% of tuition fees.

 

8. Tongarewa Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington.

Victoria University of Wellington offers the Tongarewa Scholarship to qualifying international students who are either in their first year of an undergraduate degree or pursuing a postgraduate degree program at the university. The scholarships vary from NZ$5,000 to NZ$10,000. This is a partial fee-based scholarship that will pay for one year of tuition.

 

9. Nottingham Developing Solutions Scholarships

The Developing Solutions Scholarships are intended for international students from Africa, India, or one of the Commonwealth’s developing countries who wish to pursue a Masters Degree at the University of Nottingham while simultaneously contributing to their home country’s development. Every year, 105 scholarships are awarded, with 30 covering the entire tuition charge and 75 covering half of the tuition price.
