Applications Open for Cherokee Nation Foundation Scholarships

The Cherokee Nation Foundation scholarship application deadline is quickly approaching. The application date for CNF scholarships for 2024–2025 is January 31.

Last year, the nonprofit group gave out more than $428,000 to 40 present university students and 73 recent high school graduates—the largest amount in its history.

“We once again achieved unprecedented assistance for Cherokee Nation residents pursuing higher education last year. The CNF executive director, Janice Randall, stated, “The foundation is attaining levels of growth year after year, which wouldn’t be possible without the support of so many.” “These scholarships remain a means of providing rising Cherokee students with access to opportunities that will enable them to meet their academic objectives and lay a solid foundation for their future success.”

This year, a number of new scholarship opportunities were created, such as the ones listed below.

The Cherokee Nation Public Health and Wellness Fund Act made possible the Cherokee Nation Behavioral Health Scholarship. Citizens of the Cherokee Nation are eligible to apply for this award; there are no residency requirements. The candidate must have a 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in an approved clinical psychology program, be a doctorate candidate, or be seeking a degree in a behavioral health discipline. After graduation and successful certification, recipients must be willing to work for a certain amount of time for Cherokee Nation.

A college or university in New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont) is required to accept applications for the Clarkson Family Scholarship. The applicant for this one-year scholarship must be a full-time student or a senior who is about to graduate with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Cherokee Phoenix To be eligible for the Legacy Scholarship, an applicant’s cumulative GPA must be 3.0. In addition, the applicant needs to finish a paid 10-week internship with the Cherokee Phoenix within the summer following award receipt.

Each application is assessed according to its academic standing as well as its involvement in the society and culture. In addition to the options offered by the Cherokee Nation College Resource Center and other organizations, students are eligible to receive scholarships from the CNF.
