High school seniors affected by Alzheimer’s disease can win up to $5,000 for college through the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s (AFA) Teen Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship.
High school seniors who plan to attend college can apply for the award by submitting an essay or video outlining how Alzheimer’s disease has affected their lives and what they have learned about themselves, their family, and/or their community as a result of their experience with the condition.
Essays are limited to 1,500 words.Videos are limited to four minutes. Students currently enrolled in college are ineligible to participate.
The first-place winner gets a $5,000 scholarship.
Additional awards are given to runners-up and honorable mentions.
Since its establishment, the program has provided more than $428,000 in college scholarships.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 1.
