Canada: American Cochlear Implant Alliance Reveals Student Scholarship Recipients

The American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance) has announced the student scholarship award recipients for CI2024 Vancouver: 17th International Conference on Cochlear Implants and Other Implantable Technologies, which will be held in Vancouver, Canada from July 10-13, 2024.

Scholarships were available to full-time students, fellows, and postdoctoral scholars with clinical or research interests in cochlear implants (CI). A committee of professionals from various fields of hearing health evaluated applicants. All approved applicants presented poster presentations about their own research and interests and will compete in the Student Poster Competition.

Student scholarship entries came from a diverse variety of doctors and scientists in the ACI Alliance group. The 21 applicants accepted for this scholarship come from 20 different schools of higher learning across North America and are studying hearing science and medicine. Student participation is crucial for boosting clinical and research involvement in CI. ACI Alliance is sure that this year’s scholarship awardees will make significant contributions to our mission of improving access to cochlear implants.

The subject of CI2024 Vancouver is “Cochlear Implantation: Facilitating the Patient Journey.” The conference talks will cover many elements of this issue, emphasizing the crucial need of thoroughly evaluating a wide range of factors that influence patient outcomes. The conference program includes keynote lectures, panel discussions, podium and poster presentations, and an interactive exhibit hall with representatives from industry, education, government, and non-profit organizations.

Registration for CI2024 Vancouver is now open, with early bird rates available until April 19, 2024.

The ACI Alliance is a non-profit membership organization founded with the goal of removing barriers to cochlear implantation by funding research, raising awareness, and campaigning for increased access to cochlear implants for patients of all ages across the United States.
