Central York’s Dillon Receives $5,000 Scholarship from Fishing Club

At the end of the 2023 fishing season, Hawghead Marine and Tackle awarded a $5,000 scholarship to a Central York student.

Wyatt Dillon has been a member of the Hawghead Junior Bassmaster Community Club for six years and hopes to attend Lock Haven University after graduating from high school. On July 16, 2022, the adolescent and teammate Billy Pilgrim won first place in the PA Bass Nation High School Eastern Division.

Dillon and his co-anglers have finished in the top ten in all 14 PA Bass Nation high school contests. He and his team also finished in the top ten in three recent PA Bass Nation High School State Championship competitions.

Dillon and Pilgrim have also earned spots in the 2023-2024 championship, which will be held this spring.In 2021, Dillon finished third with a co-angler in the Pennsylvania versus. Ohio HookSet Classic High School All-Star fishing tournament.

Dillon is a member of the Central York wrestling team, which qualified for the 2022 PIAA championships, and is now the sixth-ranked wrestler at 152 pounds in the 2023 Pennsylvania High School Keystone Caliber preseason rankings.
