Colonie Senior Caleb Eastman Recognized as Scholar-Athlete Awardee

Caleb Eastman, Colonie Central High School’s senior quarterback, has been named Scholar-Athlete Overall Winner by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame for 2023. The announcement came during the organization’s annual recognition luncheon, which was hosted at the Polish-American Community Center on Washington Avenue Extension in Albany.

On Sunday, March 10, the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame held a ceremony to celebrate over 50 high school and college scholar-athletes from across the Capital District.

The Executive Committee meticulously reviews high school nominees before selecting 11 remarkable individuals.

“This achievement serves as a testament to Eastman’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence,” said Greg Bearup, coach at Eastman. “Not only does it reflect his personal accomplishments, but it also brings great pride to his family, the Colonie High School football program, the school, and the entire South Colonie community.” Caleb’s talent is not only a reflection of his own abilities, but also a source of motivation for student-athletes throughout the region. “Well done, Caleb!”
