Kelsey Fenner of Villanova Center for Research and Fellowships Named Fulbright Recipient

Kelsey Fenner, an assistant director at Villanova University’s Center for Research and Fellowships, has received a Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) Award from the US Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program oversees Fulbright IEA scholarships, which provide higher education administrators with the chance to study about global higher education systems during intense two-week seminars abroad. During the process, grantees are empowered to strengthen their institutions’ capacity for international learning, obtain cross-cultural insights, and open doors to collaboration with colleagues and students all over the world.

“We are immensely proud that Kelsey has been named a Fulbright IEA recipient,” stated Amanda Grannas, PhD, Vice Provost for Research and Chief Research Officer. “Kelsey’s success reinforces the University’s mission to foster a culture of academic excellence and global engagement.” I’d want to congratulate Kelsey and look forward to her continued efforts on behalf of Villanova and the Fulbright Program to connect and interact with a global network of changemakers.”

Fenner attended the U.S.-Taiwan International Education Administrators Seminar, which discussed Taiwan’s higher education system, society, and culture. As a member of a select group of American university executives, Fenner traveled to East Asia for briefings, campus visits, cultural activities, and discussions with government officials and international education experts.

“I am honored to have represented Villanova on the Fulbright IEA in Taiwan,” Fenner stated in a statement. “As a strong supporter of global exchange, this seminar was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Taiwan and the opportunities available for Villanova’s faculty, staff and students.”

Fenner works as the assistant director for national scholarships and fellowships at the Center for Research and Fellowships. She joined the University in 2019 and has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Binghamton, a Master of Science from Oxford University, and is about to finish a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Development at Villanova University. She formerly worked at Cornell University’s career services.

As a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program grantee, Fenner joins over 400,000 teachers, artists, and professionals who have worked to improve their abilities, make new connections, and foster greater mutual understanding in over 135 countries throughout the world.
