Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Names 558 High Schoolers Semifinalists for College Scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation announced on Wednesday that 558 high school seniors have been designated semifinalists in the prestigious Cooke College Scholarship Program. The Cooke College Scholarship allows Scholars to graduate with as little debt as possible. The grant, after institutional aid, can provide up to $55,000 per year to pursue a bachelor’s degree at any qualified undergraduate university.

The Cooke Foundation received a record number of semifinalists for the Cooke College Scholarship this year. Applications will be examined once more to determine the candidates for the scholarship. The 2024 Cooke College Scholarship awardees will be revealed in April.

“We are awed by the breadth and depth of applications we received this year; there are so many talented students across the country, and we’re honored to have the opportunity to recognize their hard work,” said Executive Director Seppy Basili. “These students experienced tremendous challenges due to COVID at the outset of their high school careers which makes their accomplishments even more impressive.”

Over 3,800 high school students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and the Virgin Islands submitted applications. A list of the semifinalists can be found here.

Cooke College Scholars are chosen based on their extraordinary academic ability and success, financial need, perseverance, service to others, and leadership. Students must be current high school seniors living in the US. Scholarships are provided regardless of religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship status, geographical region, race, or ethnicity.
