Until 2010, Sweden was one of the few European countries that allowed students to study for free. The Swedish government then presented laws to impose tuition and application fees on students from non-EU/EEA countries, which will be funded by Swedish scholarship programs. Many Swedish colleges still provide tuition waivers to international students.
