The Land Conservancy of New Jersey (TLCNJ) is committed to assisting students studying environmental conservation, natural resource management, and related fields. With a 40-year history, TLCNJ’s scholarship program, which began with the Russell W. Myers Scholarship in 1983 and expanded with the Rogers Family Scholarship in 2005, continues to support future environmental leaders.

TLCNJ is delighted to provide six $10,000 scholarships in 2024, thanks to the kind generosity of our education initiative champions. We are looking for people that are passionate about protecting our natural resources, and our hiring process stresses equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Applications for the 2024 scholarship cycle are now open! New Jersey citizens studying at qualified colleges or universities, whether in-state or out-of-state, with a minimum GPA of 3.3 are urged to apply. The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 1.

11 Scholarships for Non-EU International Students to Study in Europe

To attract students from outside Europe, governments in EU/EEA member countries, as well as a number of European universities, offer tuition fee discounts or scholarship programs to non-EU international students. Legareum lists Europe’s top eleven scholarships for non-EU students.

1. Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA Students – Netherlands

The NL Scholarships, formerly the Holland Scholarship, are funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science and are designed for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree at one of the Netherlands’ research universities or universities of applied sciences. The scholarship amount is €5,000.

2. Danish Government Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA Students in Denmark

Every year, the Danish Ministry of Education awards a number of scholarships to highly qualified and motivated international students from outside the EU/EEA who wish to pursue full-time higher education at Danish universities. The scholarship might take the form of full or partial tuition exemptions, as well as grants to assist with living expenses.

3. Leiden University Excellence Scholarships in the Netherlands

The award includes a partial tuition waiver, lowering the tuition fee to that of an EEA student. The Radboud Scholarship also covers fees such as visas, residency permits, health insurance, and liability insurance.

6. Lund University Global Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA Students, Sweden

The Lund University Global Scholarship programme is intended for outstanding academic students who are citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) who are pursuing a Masters degree at the University. Scholarships might pay 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of tuition. Living expenses are excluded.

7. Chalmers IPOET Scholarships, Sweden

Chalmers will give about 50 IPOET scholarships to potential fee-paying students from outside the EU/EEA who wish to pursue any Master’s Degree Programme offered by the university. The scholarship offers a 75% tuition reduction for four semesters (two years).

8. Uppsala University offers global scholarships in Sweden

10. Emile Boutmy Scholarship for International Students in France

Sciences Po established the Emile Boutmy Scholarships in honor of its founder to attract the best international students from outside the European Union who are first-time candidates admitted to the University’s undergraduate or master’s degree programs. Scholarships may vary from €5,000 to €10,000 for two years of postgraduate study, or €3,000 to €12,300 for three years of undergraduate study.

11. Finland’s University of Oulu provides international scholarships

The University of Oulu International Scholarship Scheme awards scholarships to academically talented international students studying for Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees at the University of Oulu. U.S.: Scholarships for College Graduates Working Toward a Teaching Credential

The California Retired Teachers Association, Division 24, is awarding scholarships to Solano County college graduates who want to teach locally but must first complete the requirements for a valid state teaching credential.

The C. Shirley Michel Scholarships are available to Solano County citizens with bachelor degrees who are currently enrolled in an accredited certification program and want to teach — or are already teaching — in the County.

According to a CalRTA press release, $4,000 scholarships were presented to each of five beneficiaries last year, and this is the 38th year that Solano County residents have benefited from the scholarships.

Applications are due March 22.

Hartford Students Surprised with $20,000 Scholarships to the University of Hartford
Numerous Hartford public high school students were taken aback on Tuesday when they received admittance to the University of Hartford along with a $20,000 scholarship to be used for college over the following four years.

“i just love the constant reminder that hard work does pay off,” Jose Laboy, a high school senior, said

“I was like, wow!” Ariana Whitely added.

She said she nervous and kind of scared about how to pay for college.

“I didn’t know how I would pay for college because of financial issues, but Hartford Promise kind of helped to alleviate some of that nerve, so now I feel better about going to college” Whitely added.

Hartford Promise president Richard Sugarman explained how the scholarship works.

“At UConn, they’re going to match your scholarship, we’re gonna give you $5,000 here, they’re gonna match your $5,000, as they will at St. Joe’s, as they will at Eastern, as they will at Central, so you’re gonna get our scholarships and additional scholarships at most of those schools,” he said.

These are the criteria for becoming a Hartford Promise Scholar. You must:
- Be a Hartford public school student
- Live in Hartford
- Have a 93% attendance record
- Have a 3.0 GPA or better
In addition, if one of these students decides the University of Hartford is the school for them, they’ll also get free housing for all four years.

“This is about belief, this is about community and this is about action,” Leslie Torres-Rodrigues, superintendent of Hartford public schools, said in a statement.

Jordan Green, a first-generation former Hartford public school student who now works for Hartford Promise, said he wants this to be a sign that students in the capital city need more help and incentives.

“There are so many more students in the city of Hartford that need the support, the resources, and if you are out here, hopefully this mobilizes you to join the mission of helping out Hartford students,” Green said.

University Of Notre Dame Peace Studies Scholarship at the Kroc Institute empowers students to become outstanding scholars and teachers who contribute to a growing body of peacebuilding knowledge and practice with the goal of addressing violence and alleviating human suffering.

The peace studies curriculum is blended with traditional humanities and social science fields to produce a unique framework of study for each student. Students can also take advantage of several research opportunities at the Institute and throughout Notre Dame.

The writing sample must be original and must demonstrate your abilities in writing, analysis, and peace research. It should be your best piece of academic writing. If you are sending a portion of a larger work (for example, a senior or master’s thesis), please provide a 250-word abstract explaining the entire piece and its reasoning. Samples of writing should be in English.
