1. Manaaki New Zealand International Scholarships
The New Zealand Government offers full tertiary scholarships to qualifying international students who study full-time at a New Zealand education institution or a Pacific university. Scholarships are given to citizens of select Pacific, African, Asian, Latin American, and Caribbean countries. The scholarships cover full tuition fees, a living allowance (NZ$531 per week), an establishment allowance (NZ$3000), medical and travel insurance, travel to and from your home country and New Zealand at the start and end of your scholarship, travel home during your scholarship, and, for many postgraduate students, assistance with research and thesis costs.
2. Tongarewa Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington
Victoria University of Wellington is giving the Tongarewa Scholarship to recognize the university’s dedication to its foreign student community. Individuals in their first year of an undergraduate degree or enrolled in a postgraduate degree program at Victoria University of Wellington are eligible to apply. Recipients are expected to serve as Victoria University of Wellington Ambassadors and to participate in relevant events or marketing as requested. There are up to ten NZ$10,000 scholarships available for Bachelor’s and Masters degrees, as well as nine NZ$5,000 scholarships for Masters degrees only.
3. University of Otago International Research Masters Scholarships
The University of Otago International Master’s Award helps international students pursue a thesis-based Masters Degree at the University of Otago. The scholarship includes an annual salary of NZ$17,172 as well as a one-year tuition waiver at the domestic rate for Master’s study (excluding student services fees and insurance).
4. University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship
The University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship is open to new international undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing taught PGDip or Masters programs of 120 points or more, as well as undergraduate degrees (with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications). Studies can be on any topic. The Scholarship’s major purpose is to attract new, high-achieving international students to enroll in undergraduate or postgraduate taught programmes lasting one year or more at the University of Auckland. Up to 50 scholarships will be awarded biannually (depending on whether the candidate begins studies in Semester 1 or Semester 2), each valued up to $10,000 for postgraduate and undergraduate study.
5. University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarships
The scholarships are meant for talented international students who have succeeded academically and can serve as global ambassadors for the University of Waikato. Applicants must intend to enroll at the University of Waikato for the first time in either an undergraduate or postgraduate programme. The scholarship provides up to NZ$10,000 in tuition.
