Apply to the US White House Internship Program Spring 2024 sessionThe Biden-Haris Administration White House Internship Program aims to ensure that the White House is accessible to future leaders from around the nation. White House Fellows will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience on what and how duties are executed in the White House. You will get an oversight of the process of governing the Nation and a sense of personal involvement in the leadership of society.

This program gives an opportunity to eligible fellows to spend a full year as full-time, paid Fellows to senior White House Staff, Cabinet Secretaries, and other top-ranking government officials

The White House Internship Program is a public service leadership program that provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. This is a hands-on program and is specifically designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office, and prepare them for future public service opportunities.

The program will selected a group of young men and women from across the country to participate in the program. As a fellow, you will be expected to dedicate your time, talents, energy, and service to better the White House and the Nation. Part of the activities carried out during the Internship may include, conducting research, managing incoming inquiries, attending meetings, writing memos, and staffing events.

Interns will also come together through weekly events, including a speaker series and professional development opportunities. The internship is a 12-week program slated to start at the beginning of January 2024 and end toward the end of May.

Benefits

For the first time, this will be a full-time, paid program giving an opportunity for selected individuals to work as fellows to White House Staff, Cabinet Secretaries, and other top-ranking government officials

Interns therefore will receive a weekly stipend worth $750 for the entire duration of the programme.

Stipends are paid in two installments, with the first installment paid at the start of the programme and the last towards the end of the programme

Eligibility

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, must be 18 years of age, and must meet at least one of the following criteria to apply:

  • Applicants are students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college, community college, or university by the start of the application process.
  • If you already graduated from undergraduate or graduate degree program not more than two (2) years prior to the start of the internship, you are also eligible.
  • You must not be a Federal employee if you are to be considered.
  • Veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty–for any length of time–in the two years preceding the internship program start date may apply.
  • Fellows should also demonstrate leadership skills and potential for growth.

The Fellowship is very competitive and consideration will be exclusively based on merit. You are therefore expected to submit a well-prepared online application by the deadline of August 18, 2023. During the application process, you will be required to submit the following information.

For recommendations, you will be requested to submit the names and email addresses of three recommenders who will submit recommendation letters on your behalf. You will also submit one alternate recommender.
