Alliant Energy is looking for applicants for its 2024 Innovation Scholarships. Up to 25 students from Iowa and Wisconsin will receive $1,000 scholarships to help them further their education.
“I was extremely honored to be a recipient of this award to continue my dedication to academic excellence in college,” said Abigail Bence, 2023 Innovation Scholarship recipient and Central College (Pella, IA) student. “I can further my education and give back to my community once I begin my career in physical therapy. I am thankful to Alliant Energy for your confidence and willingness to help me achieve my goals.”
Applicants will submit an essay in which they identify a community problem and provide their own unique solution using science, technology, engineering, and/or math.
Scholarship candidates will be chosen based on the content of their essays, their engagement in leadership roles, volunteer work, community service, activities, and their grade point average.
Applicants must be enrolled in their first full-time undergraduate program. They must also be under the age of 25 and either a dependent of an existing Alliant Energy customer or a customer themselves.
Students can submit applications to the Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship Program online. The deadline is Feb. 15, 2024.
In addition to Innovation Scholarships, Alliant Energy’s partner schools provide a variety of scholarship programs designed to encourage students to explore professions in the energy industry.

Alliant Energy will provide scholarships to over 100 students in 2023. These contributions totaled more than $136,500, which was used to offset tuition and student debt.
