The 2024 Art Contest, sponsored by the Mississippi State Treasury, is now open.
This year, more than $7,000 in scholarships will be awarded to children through the competition.
“How can your child compete?” asked State Treasurer David McRae. “Just submit a piece of artwork that answers the question, What do you want to do when you grow up?”
Participants may be students in Pre-K through 12th grade. The top participant in each of the following four categories will receive a $1,000 Mississippi Affordable College Savings scholarship: Pre-K to second grade, third to fifth grade, sixth through eighth grade, and ninth through 12th grade.
The winners in second and third place will each earn a $500 MACS scholarship and a $250 MACS award, respectively.
Students in Pre-K through Second Grade should use the official submission form to submit their artwork. The original, 8.5 by 11-inch artwork created by other students in any medium is welcome.
Deadline for submissions is Feb. 29. For full information and forms, visit treasury.ms.gov/artcontest or click here.
